 Bobby Deen Biography

New York Times best-selling author and Cooking Channel star Bobby Deen has long been an essential ingredient in the recipe that has made his mother Paula Deen an American hospitality and cooking icon. The warmth, humanity and kindness that are so much a part of his mother Paula Deen's persona are really family traits that were passed on to Bobby and his older brother Jamie. In 2013, Deen's new book "From Mama's Table to Mine" debuted at #1 on the New York Times Best Seller list and his show "Not My Mama's Meals," airs on both the Food Network and the Cooking Channel. In both his new book and on his show, Bobby brings some of his family's favorite southern recipes to the table with his healthier, lighter approach to cooking.

Bobby, along with his brother Jamie and their mom, founded a small Savannah, Georgia catering business known for delivering "lunch-and-love-in-a-bag," which grew into one of Savannah's most-loved restaurants The Lady & Sons. Bobby handled front-of-house duties in the restaurant, leaving his mom free to craft recipes that gave The Lady and Sons its first national exposure and led the Deen family toward becoming one of the most recognized and beloved families in America.

With The Lady and Sons firmly established, Bobby and Jamie began appearing to rave reviews on their mother's cooking shows on the Food Network, and soon launched their own show on the network, "Road Tasted," which followed Bobby and Jamie as they explored America in search of love and warmth-infused cooking. Both Bobby and Jamie Deen began to draw a new, younger audience to the growing number of Deen Family fans in America.

To date, Bobby and Jamie have published four books, "The Deen Bros. Cookbook-Recipes From the Road" released in 2007, "Y'all Come Eat" in 2008, "Take It Easy" in 2009 and "Get Fired Up" in 2011. They published four stand-alone magazines in 2010 and have plans for additional issues. They've expanded their efforts with a line of spices, bbq sauces and t-shirts, all sold at the Paula Deen Store and at PaulaDeen.com.

Bobby’s show, Not My Mama’s Meals, currently airs on the Cooking Channel. He also hosted Holiday Baking Championship, as well as Spring Baking Championship, on the Food Network, where eight pastry-savvy chefs participated in a seasonal baking competition with the hopes of winning a sweet spot in the hearts of judges. In addition, Bobby co-hosted two popular shows, Cooking Channel’s Junk Food Flip with Nikki Dinki, as well as Food Network’s Southern Fried Road Trip with his brother, Jamie Deen.
