Massimo Bottura

Massimo Bottura is an influential chef recognized for transforming Italian cuisine and shaping global culinary trends. Bottura is known for respecting Italian culinary traditions while reinterpreting them through modern presentation and innovative techniques. He developed his culinary foundation through regional Italian cooking and classical French training, including experience with Alain Ducasse at Le Louis XV in Monte Carlo and a summer at elBulli with Ferran Adrià, which encouraged his experimental approach to cuisine.

Bottura is chef and owner of Osteria Francescana in Modena, which has earned three Michelin stars and a green Michelin star. The restaurant has been ranked among the top restaurants in the world, including first place in The World's 50 Best Restaurants. Bottura is known for deconstructing classic dishes and blending art, history, and humor into his creations. Signature dishes such as "Five Ages of Parmigiano Reggiano" and "The Crunchy Part of the Lasagna" reflect his approach to Italian ingredients with a contemporary perspective. In addition to Osteria Francescana, Bottura opened Franceschetta 58 in Modena, Gucci Osteria da Massimo Bottura in Beverly Hills and Florence, and Casa Maria Luigia, a guesthouse offering a unique dining experience.

Bottura has received multiple Michelin stars and the Grand Prix de l'Art from the International Culinary Academy in Paris. He has also been honored with the White Guide Global Gastronomy Award, the Compasso d'Oro for Refettorio Felix in London, the Farnèse d'Or pour la Culture from the French Embassy in Rome, and the McKim Medal from the American Academy in Rome. Bottura received an Honorary Degree in Business Administration from the University of Bologna in recognition of his work in entrepreneurship, education, and the promotion of Italian culture.
