Robin Dreeke Biography

Robin Dreeke is a former FBI Special Agent and the former Chief of the FBI’s Counterintelligence Behavioral Analysis Program. For twenty years he recruited sources, trained agents, and made high-stakes calls when the truth was not obvious. He now teaches those same methods to leaders who have to hire, negotiate, and decide under pressure.

He is the instructor of the MasterClass "Become the Person Everyone Trusts," where he shows how to separate observation from interpretation, test a first read before you commit, and become the kind of person people actually want to be honest with. His work is built for rooms where a bad read costs a hire, a deal, or a relationship.

Dreeke is a bestselling author of "The Code of Trust," "Sizing People Up," "Unbreakable Alliances," and "It’s Not All About Me." He is a keynote speaker on trust, communication, and reading behavior, and a Naval Academy graduate and U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

Robin Dreeke Speaking Topics

  • Become the Person Everyone Trusts: How to Read People Before It Costs You

Most leaders think they are good at reading people. Research says we are right about half the time. That is a coin flip, and in hiring, negotiations, and hard conversations it is an expensive one. Drawing on twenty years as an FBI counterintelligence agent and Chief of the Behavioral Analysis Program, Robin Dreeke teaches the system from his MasterClass: separate what you observed from what you assumed, test the read before you commit, and become the person people actually want to be honest with. This is not about spotting liars. It is about making better calls when the truth is not obvious.

    Attendee Results:

    • Learn the difference between observation and interpretation so a first impression does not become a bad hire or a broken deal.
    • Use a simple test before acting: “What would I do if my read is wrong?”
    • Spot tempo tells and incongruence without turning the room into an interrogation.
    • Walk out with a repeatable method for high-stakes conversations, not a list of body-language tricks.
    • Leave knowing how to build trust on purpose instead of hoping it appears.

  • The Code of Trust: Five Moves That Make People Want to Follow You

Trust is not a personality trait. It is a set of behaviors you can practice. Robin Dreeke shares the five rules he used recruiting sources and leading the FBI’s counterintelligence behavior team: suspend ego, be generous, validate others, honor reason, and stay nonjudgmental. Leaders stop trying to influence and start creating the conditions where people tell the truth and do hard things with them. The talk is story-driven and practical, built for rooms that are tired of slogans and want a system.

    Attendee Results:

    • Walk away with five specific behaviors that create trust in the next meeting, not someday.
    • Replace persuasion-first habits with curiosity that actually produces information.
    • Learn why “being right” is often the thing that kills the relationship and the result.
    • Practice reframing a hard conversation around the other person’s safety, security, and success.
    • Leave with language they can use the same day with a team, a client, or a partner.
