
Robert A. Wiedemer is a financial economist, author, and investment professional known for his macroeconomic analysis and expertise in financial markets. Wiedemer founded a NASDAQ-listed information services company and served as the primary investment valuation advisor for the U.S. Small Business Administration's Small Business Investment Company division, the largest fund of private venture capital funds globally. He is president of Bull Bear Publishing and a senior investment advisor at Bull Bear Investment Management.
Wiedemer co-authored the book "America's Bubble Economy," published by John Wiley, which forecasted the 2008 financial crisis and its aftermath. The book was recognized by Kiplinger's as one of the best business books and received attention for its accurate predictions. Building on this work, Wiedemer wrote "Aftershock," also published by John Wiley, which was selected by Smart Money magazine as one of the top investment books and became a New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestseller. "Aftershock" gained international recognition, becoming a bestseller in Korea and being translated into Chinese and Japanese.
Wiedemer's subsequent works include "The Aftershock Investor," a Wall Street Journal bestseller, and additional editions of "Aftershock." The audio version of "The Aftershock Investor" was nominated for an Audie Award. His book "Fake Money, Real Danger" examines the impact of government monetary policy and borrowing on asset markets, providing analysis for investors on economic and financial trends. Collectively, Wiedemer's books have sold nearly 1 million copies.
Wiedemer has presented to investors, financial analysts, and economists at organizations such as family office associations, the New York Hedge Fund Roundtable, SIFMA, CFA Societies in Chicago and San Francisco, the World Bank, and the National Press Club. He has appeared as a commentator on CNBC and Fox Business News. Wiedemer's work has been featured in publications including Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, The Hedge Fund Journal, Euromoney, Barrons, Reuters, and AP. He holds a Series 65 Registered Investment Advisor license and a master's degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison School of Business.
