Dr. Steven G. Rogelberg Biography

Dr. Steven G. Rogelberg is an organizational psychologist and Chancellor's Professor at UNC Charlotte, recognized for his contributions to organizational science, management, and psychology. Rogelberg is the founding director of Organizational Science at UNC Charlotte and has authored more than 200 publications on topics including team effectiveness, leadership, workplace well-being, and meeting science. His work has been cited nearly 14,000 times, and he has served as editor of the Journal of Business and Psychology. Rogelberg has secured over $2.5 million in external funding, including support from the National Science Foundation.

Rogelberg is the author of "The Surprising Science of Meetings," published by Oxford, which has appeared on more than 25 best-of lists and was recognized by The Washington Post as a top leadership book. The book draws on research, analytics, data mining, and survey interviews with over 5,000 employees across various industries to provide evidence-based practices for improving meeting quality. His subsequent book, "Glad We Met: The Art and Science of 1:1 Meetings," was named a top workplace book by SHRM and a must-read by Forbes.

Rogelberg's research has been recognized with honors such as the Humboldt Research Award, SIOP's inaugural Humanitarian Award, the Katzell Award for societal impact, and the First Citizens Bank Scholar Award. He is a fellow of SIOP and the Association for Psychological Science and has been ranked among the world's top 2 percent of scientists by Stanford University and Elsevier. Rogelberg is a past president of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology and former secretary general of the Alliance for Organizational Psychology.

Rogelberg consults and speaks on organizational psychology, meeting effectiveness, leadership, and workplace engagement for organizations and universities worldwide, including Amazon, the United Nations, Bank of America, Google, IBM, and Warner Bros.
