Dr. Bill Creasy Biography
Dr. Bill Creasy served for nearly thirty years on the UCLA Department of English faculty, where his flagship course, The English Bible as Literature, was one of the most popular and highly rated courses on campus. In 1995, he took his course to the general public, and by 2005, he was teaching over 6,000 adult learners weekly in churches throughout Southern California and Arizona. Dr. Creasy has been appointed as a member of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles Spirituality Commission; he has served as Scholar in Residence at Sinai Temple in Los Angeles, the first Christian academic to hold that appointment; and the San Diego Ecumenical Council has honored him for his teaching and his work in ecumenism.
Dr. Creasy has spoken at countless professional gatherings and has served as keynote speaker at such functions as the Episcopal Bishops’ Conference. In 2022, Dr. Creasy was included in Who’s Who in America, and he is currently recognized as among the top two percent of the nation’s educators. His most recent book is "Reading the Bible, a Literary Guide to Scripture."
Dr. Creasy is also a vetted member of the Catholic Speaker’s Organization.
