Daphne Guinness Biography

Daphne Guinness, an artist of both British and Irish nationality, had built an extensive portfolio in various fields before her venture into music. She is known for her work as a fashion designer, socialite, actress, film producer, and musician. Over the years, she has modeled for notable fashion figures such as Karl Lagerfeld and Philip Treacy. She has designed a collection of shirts with Comme des Garçons for Dover Street Market and donated a collection of her shoes to the Museum at Fashion Institute of Technology's Shoe Obsession exhibit. Additionally, Guinness has also walked in Naomi Campbell's Fashion for Relief shows, auctioned part of her wardrobe for charity, and curated an exhibition at the Fashion Institute of Technology.

With an undeniable flair for fashion, Guinness has been named to the International Best Dressed List Hall of Fame and Tatler's top 10 best-dressed list. She has graced the covers of multiple international editions of Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Tatler, and Zoo Magazine, among other fashion magazines. She has penned numerous articles on fashion, appearing in publications such as Vogue, the Financial Times, The Times of London, and Harper's Bazaar. Her contributions to the fashion world also include the purchase of Isabella Blow's entire wardrobe at auction, which she later displayed at Central Saint Martins.

Guinness started her musical journey later in life. Despite earning a place at Guildhall to study opera as a soprano, she ventured into music partly due to the encouragement from her friend, David Bowie. Guinness has since released three albums: "Optimist in Black" in 2016, "Daphne & the Golden Chord" in 2018, "Revelations" in 2020, and "Sleep" in 2024. She has produced music videos for some of her songs, including "Fatal Flaw," "Evening in Space," "Talking to Yourself," "Remember to Breathe," "Hallucinations," and "Heaven."

Beyond music and fashion, Guinness has also produced, appeared in, and edited three short films, including the Academy Award-nominated "Cashback." She worked with David LaChapelle on a three-part film series titled "Revelations" and has appeared in short films and music videos, such as "SHAKKI" and "The Legend of Lady White Snake." Guinness is a direct descendant of Arthur Guinness, the 18th-century inventor of the beer that still bears his name.
