Jan McInnis Biography

Jan McInnis has been performing comedy, emceeing events and delivering humor keynotes full-time for the past 15 years. She’s worked with hundreds of corporations, associations and professional events across North America to make sure the event is a HIT. Her professional emcee skills are EXCELLENT, which is why when she hosts your awards banquet or major event, McInnis will keep the show rolling with laughs, keep your audience engaged and give you a break!

She combines her clean humor with customized material for all groups, becoming a big hit with meeting planners and audiences. McInnis was featured in the Wall Street Journal as one of the top convention comedians whose material is not offensive and in the Washington Post for her clean comedy writing. She believes life is full of “finding the funny,” and the audiences who continually rate her programs “hilarious” wouldn’t have it any other way.

Inspired by fifteen years as a marketing director in the 9 to 5 world, McInnis has cornered the association and corporate convention market. In addition, over the years on the full-time speaking circuit, she has spoken at hundreds of conferences, training sessions, employee retreats and banquets held by such groups as Anthem Blue-Cross, Merrill Lynch, John Deere, the Federal Reserve, Women in Insurance & Financial Services and the Mayo Clinic.

Born in D.C., McInnis majored in communications at Virginia Tech, where she was a disk jockey for the local radio station. She is the author of Finding The Funny Fast: How to Create Quick Humor to Connect with Clients, Coworkers and Crowds. McInnis believes that learning doesn’t have to be boring, and in her speeches, provides audiences with practical tips on handling life’s curveballs. Her creative guidelines to mastering change are taken from her own experiences of leaving the cushy “regular” job and heading out into the bumpy road of comedy.
