Tara Furiani

Tara Furiani is an executive coach, keynote speaker, and expert in human resources, leadership development, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. Furiani holds dual master's degrees in psychology and organizational leadership, as well as a JD, providing a strong academic foundation for her work in organizational transformation and workplace culture.

Furiani served as Chief People Officer for companies valued at more than $6 billion and employing over 10,000 people globally, including Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas, Neon Films, ACT, loanDepot, and Dale Carnegie. In these roles, she led significant organizational reforms and drove initiatives in talent management, DEI, and leadership strategy.

After her tenure at Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas ended, Furiani launched "Not the HR Lady," a YouTube show and podcast focused on workplace issues, including discrimination, systemic bias, toxic leadership, and the practical implications of DEI. She is also the author of the book "F*ck Your Office Snacks," which addresses office politics and workplace culture.

As an executive coach, Furiani works with C-level leaders and teams across nonprofit, cannabis, technology, finance, and travel/hospitality industries. She also trains on negotiations with the Shapiro Negotiations Institute and delivers keynote addresses at events such as The Sundance Institute's Arthouse Convergence, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, and the Sports Field Management Association. Furiani serves on NASA's DEI board, advocating for diversity and inclusion in both corporate and scientific communities.

Furiani's expertise has been recognized by major media outlets, including Newsweek, for her insights into corporate leadership and workplace culture. She also leads SAIL Leadership Intensives, a self-guided retreat program aboard Virgin Voyages in the US and UK, designed to help leaders focus on self-care, accountability, influence, and learning.

Furiani is an advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion, drawing on her experiences as a woman, a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, and as someone raising a multiracial family. She addresses challenges such as resistance and bias in her work, encouraging organizations to build inclusive workplaces where all individuals can thrive.
