Dave Navarro

Dave Navarro is a guitarist known for his work with the alternative rock band Jane's Addiction and as a former member of Red Hot Chili Peppers. Navarro joined Jane's Addiction in the late 1980s, contributing to four studio albums before the band's initial breakup. He was a member of Red Hot Chili Peppers for several years, recording one studio album with the group. Navarro has also played with Jane's Addiction spin-off bands Deconstruction and The Panic Channel, releasing albums with both. As a solo artist, he released the album "Trust No One."

Navarro has contributed to the music industry by playing guitar on Alanis Morissette's track "You Oughta Know" from the album Jagged Little Pill and on "Girls/Fast Cars" for the indie rock band the Wombats. He is known for using PRS Guitars as his primary stage instrument.

In addition to his music career, Navarro has worked in television as a host and judge on the tattoo competition reality show "Ink Master." He also co-hosted the series "Rock Star: INXS" and "Rock Star: Supernova." His television appearances include roles in "Sons of Anarchy," "Talking Dead," and "Law & Order: SVU." Navarro's film credits include appearances in the movies Floundering and Uptown Girls, as well as directing the adult film Broken. He has participated in Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp and appeared in a Citibank commercial. Navarro has been involved in advocacy through his work with PETA's anti-fur and anti-animal testing campaigns.

Navarro's writing includes a movie review column, "Movies & Crap," for Bikini Magazine and contributions to publications such as Nylon, Details, Ray Gun, and US Weekly. He co-wrote the book "Don't Try This at Home." Navarro released the documentary Mourning Son, which explores the impact of his mother's murder and his subsequent struggles with addiction. He has also engaged in political activities, performing at the Republican National Convention and endorsing Marianne Williamson in a presidential race. Navarro has publicly discussed his ongoing health challenges related to long COVID, which led to his absence from a Jane's Addiction tour, with Josh Klinghoffer filling in during that period.
