DannyLux Biography

Daniel Balderrama Espinoza, known professionally as DannyLux, is a Mexican-American singer, songwriter, and guitarist recognized for his contributions to regional Mexican music. DannyLux blends corrido and sad sierreño with classic and alternative rock, creating a sound that reflects his Mexican-American heritage while expanding traditional genre boundaries. He began writing songs at age 15, drawing inspiration from artists such as Ariel Camacho, Eslabon Armado, Junior H, and Porte Diferente, and has become a notable figure in the corrido tumbado movement.

DannyLux gained widespread attention after collaborating with Eslabon Armado on the track "Jugaste y Sufrí," which reached number one on the Billboard Latin Songwriters chart. The song also became one of the few regional Mexican tracks to appear on the US Billboard Hot 100 and peaked at number 3 on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart. Following this success, DannyLux topped the Billboard Latin Songwriters chart for three consecutive weeks, marking a significant milestone in his songwriting career.

He has performed as the opening act for Coldplay during their extended Mexican tour and released projects such as "Las Dos Caras del Amor," "Perdido en Ti," and "DLUX," which showcase the diverse musical influences of his background. DannyLux has received nominations for the Billboard Latin Music Award, Premios Juventud in the New Generation – Regional Mexican category, Artist of the Year and Best Sierreño Song of the Year at the Radio Awards in Mexico City, and earned a gold certification for the single "Infeliz." He has also performed at Coachella, received a Premio Lo Nuestro nomination for Best New Artist – Regional Mexican, and recorded both a Colors Show and a Tiny Desk performance.

DannyLux's album "EVOLUXION" earned a nomination for Best Contemporary Mexican Music Album at the Latin Grammy Awards. He released the album and short film "LEYENDA," which secured a second consecutive Latin Grammy nomination for Best Contemporary Mexican Music Album and was included on Billboard Latin Best Albums of the Year list. This project also marked his entry into acting. Expanding his musical repertoire, DannyLux has explored house music and EDM with tracks like "House of Lux" and the single "Soltera," introducing new elements to his established themes of love and heartbreak.

DannyLux received the BMI Latin Award for Regional Mexican Song of the Year for "Jugaste y Sufrí." He has been featured in Billboard's "21 Under 21" list and Variety's Young Hollywood Report. He made his runway debut at Paris Fashion Week during the Willy Chavarria show, highlighting his influence in both music and culture. With a catalog that spans corridos, genre-blending rock, and cinematic storytelling, DannyLux continues to shape contemporary Latin music.
