David Delmar Sentíes Biography

David Delmar Sentíes is not a professional speaker. He's an activist, an award-winning social entrepreneur, and author. He's the founder of Resilient Coders, a free and stipended coding bootcamp that trains people of color from low-income communities for high growth careers as software engineers, and connects them with full time jobs. They're good at this. Their work has earned them some attention. They've been recognized by the White House in 2016, and featured in a variety of news outlets, including TechCrunch and the Boston Globe. Sentíes is most proud of being recognized by El Planeta as an influential member of Boston's Hispanic community.

Sentíes recently published a book with Beacon Press called "What We Build With Power: The Fight For Economic Justice In Tech", which was celebrated by other justice-minded activists, including Former Governor of Massachusetts Deval Patrick. He never meant to be a 'speaker,' though he's been speaking to crowds for about a decade. That's all been in service to mobilization efforts; most recently, building momentum for a worker-led campaign for equitable employment practices in tech.

Sentíes's purpose is to expand, through everything he builds, writes, and now speaks, the number and profile of people who work at a new class of worker-centric company.
