Victor Cho: eVite Keeps It Simple to Lead - YouTube
Connected Business Models with evite CEO Victor Cho - YouTube
The only way to build a truly high-performing and enduring company is to create an environment where ‘leadership’ is an expectation for all levels of an organization and not just the most senior ranks. My eight-step framework for creating recursive leadership in your organization includes the typical elements you’d expect (setting strategy and priorities, building out teams, keeping them energized, etc.) but also incorporates important elements that are far too often ignored in our shareholder-focused economy—traits like integrity, passion for the customer, social responsibility, and more.
In a globally connected society the fundamental structure and role of companies begins to change. How organizations create and deliver value shifts from what has historically been a one-way model to a bi-directional one, dominated by networked business models based upon broader ecosystems and networks. Every element of day-to-day operations changes, including: the nature of marketing vs. product, the power of testing and analytics, the power of customer-centricity, the role of social and task-based networks in your business model, and more.
As the CEO of the world’s largest online invitation service I get a unique vantage on the social trends shaping our society. I have become increasingly concerned at the potential degradation of meaningful face-to-face social-interaction due to the continued assault of smart-phones, social networks, and a ‘broadcast my best possible life’ vs. ‘live a truly meaningful life grounded in real personal connection’. One of my passions is to communicate the importance of these face-to-face connections in all aspects of one’s life—from personal to professional and emotional to physical.
We have recently seen a wave of social networks spawning and reaching significant scale. However, these businesses are simply the first stage of progress towards a continuing evolution of new services that will bring people together to actually solve problems and tasks. In this presentation, Victor Cho will walk through the market evolution that he predicts will occur on top of these social networks, provide a framework for thinking about task-based networks, and discuss the implications for society and your business.
