Cheryl Strauss Einhorn Biography

Cheryl Strauss Einhorn is an investigative journalist, educator, and decision-science entrepreneur with a career spanning two decades in high-stakes reporting and research on complex decision-making. Einhorn developed the AREA Method, a decision-making system designed to help individuals and organizations address complex problems by controlling for cognitive bias and expanding knowledge to improve judgment. She has contributed to publications including The New York Times, Foreign Policy Magazine, Barron's, and Harvard Business Review. Her book "Investing in Financial Research" was recognized as a finalist in the International Book Awards, and she has received an ACE Award from the National Association of Consumer Advocates for investigative journalism.

Einhorn is the founder and CEO of Decisive, a decision sciences company that provides training in complex problem solving and decision-making using the AREA Method. The AREA Method is utilized by organizations such as Goldman Sachs and the U.S. State Department for high-stakes deliberations and trust-building initiatives.

As an educator, Einhorn has taught at Columbia Business School and teaches at Cornell University's SC Johnson School of Business and Cornell Tech.
