Eric McCormack Biography

Since 1990, McCormack has appeared in dozens of series and made-for-television movies, most memorably as Will from "Will & Grace" and Col. Clay Mosby on "Lonesome Dove: The Outlaw Years".

McCormack's feature films include "Holy Man", "Free Enterprise", "Here's to Life" and the independent film "The Sisters".

McCormack received his breakthrough role in 1998 when he was cast as Will Truman on the NBC sitcom "Will & Grace". The show quickly developed a loyal audience, with the show and McCormack receiving strong reviews, and ran for eight seasons before ending in 2005. Almost twelve years later, McCormack reprised his role as Will alongside the rest of the original cast in the "Will & Grace" revival .

In 2001, McCormack made his Broadway debut as Harold Hill in Susan Stroman's acclaimed production of "The Music Man", and the following year hosted the fourth episode of the 28th season of the sketch comedy show "Saturday Night Live" on November 2, 2002. McCormack appeared in numerous TV and film series, including the recurring role as Ray Summers on Showtime's comedy drama "Dead Like Me", "The Sisters", "Full Circle", "Travelers" and "Atypical".

McCormack made his debut as a writer/director with the film short "Pirates", and directed and starred in his own script in Disney's "What You Wish For", developed by Janet Holden.
