Jesse Tyler Ferguson

Jesse Tyler Ferguson is an actor whose career spans television, film, and theater. He is recognized for his portrayal of Mitchell Pritchett, an openly gay lawyer, on the ABC sitcom "Modern Family," which ran for 11 seasons. Ferguson's performance earned five consecutive Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series and four Screen Actors Guild Awards as part of the ensemble cast.

Before his television work, Ferguson established a stage career in New York City. He made his Broadway debut as Chip in George C. Wolfe's revival of "On the Town" and originated the role of Leaf Coneybear in the Tony Award-winning musical "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee," earning a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Ensemble Performance. He later returned to Broadway in the solo show "Fully Committed," winning a Drama Desk Award for Best Solo Performance. Ferguson has performed in five seasons with The Public Theater's Shakespeare in the Park.

Ferguson received a Tony Award for his performance as Mason Marzac in the first Broadway revival of Richard Greenberg's "Take Me Out," a role that also earned an Outer Critics Circle Award. His film credits include "Cocaine Bear" and "Ice Age: Collision Course." On television, he co-hosted HGTV's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" and hosts the podcast "Dinner's On Me with Jesse Tyler Ferguson," which highlights his interest in food and cooking.

Ferguson starred as Truman Capote in the Off-Broadway revival of Jay Presson Allen's "Tru," performed in an immersive style inside a historic Upper East Side mansion. The production received multiple extensions before concluding its run. Beyond his acting career, Ferguson is an LGBTQ+ advocate and co-founder of Pronoun, a foundation dedicated to fighting oppression within the LGBTQIA+ community.
