Jason Segel

Jason Segel is an American television and film actor. He is best known for his role as Marshall Eriksen in the hit series, "How I Met Your Mother."

Segel's major break came in 1999, when he was cast as Nick Andopolis in Judd Apatow's well-regarded series, "Freaks and Geeks." His film breakthrough came in 2008's hit, "Forgetting Sarah Marshall," which he wrote and starred in. Segel also went on to co-write and star in "The Muppets."

Segel's other feature film roles include "I Love You, Man," "Get Him to the Greek," "Knocked Up," "The Five-Year Engagement," "Bad Teacher,” "Sex Tape,” and many more.

His performance as the late author David Foster Wallace in the 2015 film The End of the Tour was met with critical acclaim, earning him a nomination for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead. In 2012, Segel was named the Hasty Pudding Man of the Year.

In 2013, Segel revealed he was working on a series of young adult novels, based on a story he conceived when he was 21] In the fall of 2014, the first novel of the series Nightmares!,co-written with Kirsten Miller, was released, with the followup coming out the following year. ‘

In 2017, Segel and Miller released their first young adult novel, Otherworld.

Segel is an ordained minister with the Universal Life Church. He performed a wedding ceremony on The Tonight Show on July 6, 2010, for a couple that solicited his services by placing naked pictures of him around his hometown and the bar he frequently visited.
