Greg Brockman Biography
Greg Brockman is an entrepreneur, investor, and software engineer who is a co-founder and has recently returned to OpenAI as its president. He began his career at Stripe in 2010, upon leaving MIT, and became their CTO in 2013. He left Stripe in 2015 to co-found OpenAI, where he also assumed the role of CTO. His leadership role at OpenAI allowed him to spearhead several prominent projects, including the unveiling of GPT-4, the newest language model created by the organization.
Dedication to the democratization of artificial intelligence is a recurring theme in Brockman's career. He has consistently expressed the desire to ensure that general-purpose artificial intelligence benefits everyone. Upon leaving OpenAI (which he has since returned), Brockman moved to Microsoft, where he continued his AI research advocacy for democratization ethical use of AI alongside former OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.
Brockman has an academic background from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His TED talk titled "The inside story of ChatGPT's astonishing potential" explored the underlying design principles of ChatGPT and demonstrated unreleased plug-ins for the chatbot.
