Brandon Routh

Brandon Routh is an American actor best known for portraying Superman in the 2006 film "Superman Returns" and Ray Palmer, also known as The Atom, in The CW series "DC’s Legends of Tomorrow," where he appeared as a series regular from 2016 to 2020.

Routh’s early television career included roles in the sitcom "Odd Man Out" (1999), the soap opera "Undressed" and a 2000 appearance on "Gilmore Girls." From 2001 to 2002, he played Seth Anderson on the daytime drama "One Life to Live." He later appeared in series such as "Chuck," where he portrayed a recurring antagonist, as well as guest roles on shows including "Cold Case," "Will & Grace" and "Oliver Beene."

Routh achieved international recognition after being cast as Superman in director Bryan Singer’s "Superman Returns." His film work also includes roles in "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World," directed by Edgar Wright, as well as appearances in "Zach and Miri Make a Porno," "Table for Three" and "Unthinkable."

In addition to live-action acting, Routh voiced David “Hesh” Walker in the 2013 video game "Call of Duty: Ghosts." He has also worked in independent films and television projects throughout the 2010s and 2020s.

Routh is married to actress Courtney Ford, and the two have collaborated professionally, including starring together in the 2008 independent film "Fling." He continues to work in film and television while maintaining a presence in science fiction and superhero media franchises.
