| Dan Marino holds 13 major career passing records and the single season record for most yards thrown, the only player to throw for over 5,000 yards in a single season. A fierce competitor, he never did capture the elusive prey-a Super Bowl win. Off the field he is a devoted family man and an incredible humanitarian. Dan Marino has devoted a lot of effort and money to support various children\'s charities, some of which he founded. His efforts were recognized by the NFL when he was awarded the prominent Man of the Year award in 1998. Dan Marino recently signed as a commentator for Inside the NFL this fall on HBO Sports.
