Leadership Development Expert & Former NFL Safety; Playwright of "Runt of the Litter"; Author of "There's No Plan B for Your A-Game"
Bo Eason Biography
Bo Eason is an American public figure known for his achievements in professional football, theater, and motivational speaking. Eason played as a safety in the National Football League for the Houston Oilers, appearing in 38 games with six interceptions and 3.5 sacks, and earning Second-Team All-Pro honors. After a college football career as a third-team All-American at UC Davis, Eason was selected in the second round of the NFL Draft by the Oilers. His professional football career ended due to injuries, including a broken ankle, though he briefly signed with the San Francisco 49ers before retiring from the sport.
Following his football career, Eason transitioned into acting and playwriting, studying under acting coaches including Roy London, Stephen Strimpell, Timothy Busfield, Denny Albee, and Ken Lerner. Eason made his film debut in "Miami Rhapsody" and appeared in roles such as Bud McVie in "Volcano" and Officer Tally in the HBO film "A Bright Shining Lie." He also portrayed a coach in the sports drama "Friday Night Lights."
Eason wrote and performed the one-man play "Runt of the Litter," which explores themes of ambition, rivalry, and personal growth. The New York Times described it as one of the most powerful plays of the decade, and Eason toured with the production in more than 50 cities. After a performance of "Runt of the Litter," Leonardo DiCaprio hired Eason to write a screenplay based on the 1924 Olympic Rugby team.
Eason later became a motivational speaker, delivering keynotes and workshops to Fortune 500 companies and professional athletes. His background as an NFL player and performer informs his presentations on resilience, leadership, and peak performance. Eason's methodology, "Personal Story Power," teaches individuals and teams to use their personal narratives as tools for leadership and achievement, drawing from his experiences in professional football and the performing arts. He trained with performance and movement coaches Larry Moss and Jean-Louis Rodrigue and now coaches others in presentation and storytelling skills.
Eason is an eight-time bestselling author. His book, "There's No Plan B for Your A-Game: Be the Best in the World at What You Do," appeared on the USA Today, Wall Street Journal, and Publishers Weekly bestseller lists and was named one of the four hottest new books of the season by Inc. Magazine. As a speaker and leadership coach, Eason trains athletes, artists, entrepreneurs, and executives, and has consulted for Fortune 500 companies including Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, and Merrill Lynch. He has appeared as a guest on shows such as "Bill Maher," Fox Sports Net, ESPN, "The Rosie O'Donnell Show," and CNN, sharing his story of career reinvention and mastery with diverse audiences.
