Randy Rogers Band Biography

The Randy Rogers Band is an American country music group rooted in the Texas Red Dirt tradition, originating from San Marcos, Texas. Frontman Randy Rogers grew up in Cleburne, Texas, where his great-grandmother taught him piano at age 6. By age 11, he was writing songs and learning guitar. After performing in a backing band, Rogers formed the Randy Rogers Band with friends from college. The group includes Randy Rogers as lead vocalist, Geoffrey Hill on guitar, Jon Richardson on bass guitar, Brady Black on fiddle, Les Lawless on drums, and Todd Stewart on guitar, fiddle, mandolin, and keyboards. Their sound blends traditional country music with influences ranging from Waylon Jennings to Stone Temple Pilots.

The band's debut album, "Live at Cheatham Street Warehouse," was recorded at the well-known music hall in San Marcos. Their discography features "Just a Matter of Time," their first major-label album on Mercury Nashville Records, followed by their self-titled album, also on Mercury Nashville Records. Beginning with "Just a Matter of Time," the band achieved five consecutive Top 10 Billboard Country albums. Kenny Chesney recorded Rogers' song "Somebody Take Me Home" for his album "The Road and the Radio." The band grossed $2.5 million in touring in a single year and has shared stages with Willie Nelson, the Eagles, Gary Allan, and Dierks Bentley.

The single "One More Sad Song" became the group's highest-charting song, peaking at 38 on the country charts and contributing to the album "Trouble" reaching number three on Billboard's country album charts and number nine on the Top 200. Following "Trouble," the band toured extensively, including two concerts at Floore's Country Store in Helotes, Texas, which were recorded for the double-live album "Homemade Tamales." The album "Nothing Shines Like Neon" featured guest vocals by Alison Krauss and Dan Tyminski, as well as a duet with Jerry Jeff Walker. Rogers also recorded a duet album with Wade Bowen, "Hold My Beer, Vol. 1."

Produced by four-time Grammy winner Dave Cobb, "Hellbent" is the band's eighth studio album, recorded at RCA Studio A. The album reflects the group's ongoing artistic ambition and country music roots. In the year leading up to the album's release, the band played sold-out shows in cities including Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Boston, and Seattle, performing more than 50 shows to over 60,000 fans outside Texas. The band has received Texas Regional Radio Music Awards for Entertainer and Band of the Year, as well as Best Music Video for "I'll Never Get Over You."

The Randy Rogers Band has built a diverse and loyal audience that extends beyond Texas. In addition to the band's music career and touring, Rogers co-owns several Texas venues and was a founding partner in Big Blind Management, supporting the careers of artists such as Red Shahan and Parker McCollum.
