Jason Scott Lee is a notable figure in the film industry who portrayed Mowgli in Disney's 1994 live-action adaptation of "The Jungle Book" and Bruce Lee in the 1993 martial arts film "Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story." Lee's proficiency in martial arts extends beyond on-screen performances, as he is a certified instructor in Bruce Lee's martial art, Jeet Kune Do. In 2020, he played the villain Böri Khan in Disney’s "Mulan," and in 2021, he starred in the Disney+ series "Doogie Kameāloha, M.D.," a reboot of "Doogie Howser, M.D." In 2025, he appeared in the live-action "Lilo & Stitch."
Lee has also made notable contributions to stage and musical theatre. In 2000, he performed as The King of Siam in the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical "The King and I" at the London Palladium. He made his operatic debut in the non-singing role of Pasha Selim in Hawaii Opera Theatre's production of Mozart's "Abduction from the Seraglio" in 2009. Additionally, Lee was featured in the historical drama "The Wind & the Reckoning" as Koʻolau, released in early November 2022.
Lee has participated in documentaries such as "The Slanted Screen," which examines the representation of Asian and Asian American men in Hollywood.
