Tom Welling is an actor, director, and producer with a career spanning more than two decades in television and film. Welling first gained recognition for his portrayal of Clark Kent on "Smallville," a series chronicling the formative years of the iconic superhero. Before his acting career, Welling worked in construction and modeled for brands such as Abercrombie & Fitch, Dior, and Thomas Burberry. Initially hesitant to take on the role of Clark Kent due to concerns about typecasting, Welling ultimately accepted the part, which became a defining role in his career.

"Smallville" offered a unique narrative within the superhero genre, following Clark Kent's journey as he grappled with his emerging powers and his desire to maintain his humanity. Welling is the only actor to appear in all 217 episodes of the series, which played a significant role in shaping the landscape of superhero television dramas.
