Shawn Hatosy

Shawn Hatosy is an actor and director whose career spans more than three decades in film, television, and stage. Hatosy began acting at age 10 in local theater. He gained recognition for his portrayals of troubled teens, notably as a conflicted football player in Robert Rodriguez's science fiction horror film "The Faculty." His first lead role came in "Outside Providence," a period drama produced by the Farrelly Brothers. Hatosy went on to appear in films such as Werner Herzog's "Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans" and "Alpha Dog."

Hatosy's transition to television marked a significant chapter in his career. He starred in John Wells' Peabody Award-winning TNT drama "Southland," earning a Critics' Choice Award nomination. Hatosy also portrayed John McCain in "Faith of My Fathers" and played lead roles in Frank Pierson's Showtime drama "Soldier's Girl" and the Emmy-nominated "Witness Protection." He received a Golden Satellite Award nomination for his performance in "Soldier's Girl." On stage, Hatosy performed the title role in the La Jolla Playhouse production of "The Collected Works of Billy the Kid," starred in Paul Weitz's comedy "Roulette" Off-Broadway, and appeared in Lyle Kessler's "Orphans" at the Greenway Court Theatre in Los Angeles.

Hatosy was cast as Andrew Pope Cody in TNT's drama "Animal Kingdom," portraying a complex character for six seasons. He appeared in all 75 episodes and directed four episodes of the series. "Animal Kingdom" continues to reach new audiences through streaming platforms.

Hatosy won a Best Guest Actor in a Drama Series Emmy for his recurring role on HBO Max's "The Pitt" as Dr. Jack Abbot, a combat veteran and attending physician in emergency medicine. He received his second consecutive nomination for his performance in season two. "The Pitt" is the third John Wells Productions series featuring Hatosy, following "Southland" and "Animal Kingdom." Hatosy has also appeared in FX's limited series "Cry Wolf" and in "Ready or Not 2: Here I Come." His career demonstrates a consistent focus on character-driven storytelling in television and film.
