Scarlett Johansson is an actress and producer. She was named the world's highest-paid actress in 2018 and 2019, and has been featured multiple times on the Forbes Celebrity 100 list. Her films have grossed over $15.4 billion worldwide, making her the third-highest-grossing box-office star of all time. In 2021, Time included her in its annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world. Throughout her career, she has received various accolades, including a Tony Award and a British Academy Film Award, in addition to nominations for two Academy Awards and five Golden Globe Awards.

Johansson made her film debut in the fantasy comedy North in 1994 and gained wider recognition with her roles in "Lost in Translation," which won her a BAFTA Award for Best Actress, and "Girl with a Pearl Earring." In 2010, she debuted on Broadway in a revival of "A View from the Bridge," which won her a Tony Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Play. The same year marked the beginning of her portrayal of Black Widow in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) with "Iron Man 2." She reprised this role in several MCU films, culminating in her solo feature "Black Widow" in 2021, a film she also served as an executive producer for. She received two simultaneous Academy Award nominations for her roles in "Marriage Story" and "Jojo Rabbit" respectively. More recently in 2023, she starred in Wes Anderson's "Asteroid City" and took part in Kristin Scott Thomas's directorial debut "North Star." She has also returned to the MCU as an executive producer on "Thunderbolts." In 2025, she premiered her directorial debut "Eleanor The Great" starring June Squibb.

Off-screen, Johansson is known for her philanthropic endeavors and public advocacy. She has been a vocal advocate for women's and reproductive rights. In 2017, Johansson spoke at the inaugural Women's March on Washington, addressing Donald Trump's presidency. A year later, she was part of the founding team of the Time's Up initiative, a movement aimed at combating harassment and discrimination in the industry. In addition to her advocacy work, she also founded a plant-based skincare line called The Outset in 2022. Johansson has also been involved in various awareness campaigns and charity work including those for cancer research and feeding the hungry.
