Ryan Potter Biography
Ryan Potter is an American actor and martial artist best known for his starring role as Mike Fukanaga on Nickelodeon’s martial arts comedy-action series “Supah Ninjas.” He voiced Hiro Hamada in the animated superhero film “Big Hero 6” and portrayed Gar Logan, also known as Beast Boy, on the DC Universe and HBO Max series “Titans.”
Potter began acting at 15 after learning of a Nickelodeon casting call through his kung fu class. Following the debut of “Supah Ninjas,” he became one of the network’s popular young stars, appearing in teen magazines and participating in events such as Nickelodeon’s Worldwide Day of Play, the reboot of “Figure It Out,” and the TeenNick HALO Awards.
He founded Toy Box of Hope, a charity that hosts an annual holiday toy drive for children in homeless shelters and transitional living facilities in the Los Angeles area. Potter was also among the youngest celebrities to support California’s No H8 Campaign.
Of Japanese and Caucasian descent, Potter was raised in Tokyo until age 7 before returning to the United States. He is fluent in Japanese and English and began studying White Tiger kung fu at age 8, continuing the discipline throughout his teenage years.
