Morgan Fairchild

Morgan Fairchild is an American actress and activist whose career in television and film spans more than five decades. Fairchild began her career on the CBS daytime soap opera "Search for Tomorrow" as Jennifer Pace. She later appeared on the primetime soap opera "Dallas" as the first actress to portray Jenna Wade, before taking a lead role on the NBC series "Flamingo Road," for which she received a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actress in a Television Series Drama. Fairchild further established her presence in the 1980s by starring as Constance Weldon Carlyle in "Flamingo Road." She co-starred on ABC's "Paper Dolls" and appeared on "Falcon Crest" as attorney Jordan Roberts.

Fairchild's versatility in both comedic and dramatic roles has contributed to her enduring career. She has performed in theater and played guest roles on television comedies, including "Murphy Brown," for which she was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series. Fairchild made guest appearances on the sitcom "Friends" as Chandler Bing's mother, Nora, and was a recurring guest star on "Cybill" as Andrea. She also appeared in the film-within-the-film of "Pee-wee's Big Adventure." Fairchild returned to daytime television for a limited run in "Days of Our Lives" as Anjelica Deveraux, earning a Daytime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Guest Performer in a Drama Series. She has also starred in the Lifetime holiday film "Ladies of the '80s: A Divas Christmas."

Throughout her career, Fairchild has appeared in various theater productions, including the role of Mrs. Robinson in the stage adaptation of "The Graduate." She has shared her expertise beyond the screen by authoring the book "Super Looks," a guide to makeup, exercise, and diet. Fairchild has introduced herself to younger generations through roles on "Friends," "Roseanne," and "Pee-wee's Big Adventure." Her cultural impact was further recognized when Jon Lovitz on Saturday Night Live created the "Tommy Flanagan, The Pathological Liar" character, whose grand illusion was that his wife was Morgan Fairchild.

Fairchild is also known for her activism, being among the first to advocate for AIDS awareness and education, and for her ongoing work on environmental issues. She has spearheaded fundraising projects for AIDS research, testified before Congress about AIDS education, and was selected by Dr. C. Everett Koop to speak at rallies during the early years of the AIDS crisis. Fairchild is a frequent speaker on environmental topics and helped found the Environmental Communications Office, which encourages entertainment industry professionals to become more active on environmental issues.

She is an original member and serves on the Board of Directors of the Hollywood Women's Political Committee, a political action committee supporting liberal candidates. Fairchild's public service includes leading pro-choice marches, participating in efforts to protect California deserts, and appearing before the U.S. Senate. As a board member of SAG-AFTRA, she has served on several committees, including co-chair of the Legislative Committee, the National Executive Committee, the SAG-AFTRA Relations Committee, and the Guild Governance and Rules Committee. Fairchild has also spoken publicly about living with ME/CFS and addressed the National Academy of Medicine about her experiences. Her career is marked by a commitment to public health, environmental advocacy, and civic engagement within the entertainment industry.
