Kelsey Plum is a professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Sparks of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). A four-time WNBA All-Star, Plum was named the WNBA All-Star Game Most Valuable Player and has won gold medals with the United States in both 3x3 and 5x5 basketball at the Olympics.
Plum's collegiate career at the University of Washington set new standards in women's college basketball. She became the highest-scoring player in NCAA history, totaling 3,527 points, and set a single-season NCAA scoring record with 1,109 points in her senior year, earning Player of the Year and All-American honors. Plum averaged 25.4 points per game for her career and 31.7 points per game as a senior, maintaining one of the highest scoring averages in modern college basketball. She received multiple awards, including the Honda Sports Award, John R. Wooden Award, Wade Trophy, Nancy Lieberman Award, Naismith College Player of the Year, USBWA Player of the Year, Dawn Staley Award, and AP Player of the Year. Plum led Washington to a Final Four appearance and national recognition, and her No. 10 jersey was retired by the university.
Plum was selected first overall in the WNBA Draft by the San Antonio Stars, later renamed the Las Vegas Aces. With the Aces, she established herself as a leading player in the league, overcoming an Achilles tendon injury that sidelined her for one season. Upon her return, Plum posted career-high numbers and earned the WNBA Sixth Player of the Year award. She contributed to back-to-back WNBA championships with the Aces and earned her first All-WNBA First Team selection. The Aces' consecutive titles marked the first time in over two decades that a team achieved this feat. Internationally, Plum played overseas during the off-season and helped Fenerbahçe secure consecutive Turkish Super League titles.
After seven seasons with one organization, Plum was traded to the Los Angeles Sparks. She earned her fourth consecutive All-Star selection and appeared in 43 regular-season games, averaging 19.5 points along with career highs in assists, rebounds, and steals. Off the court, Plum founded the Dawg Class basketball camp, demonstrating her commitment to youth basketball development. She also launched her own Maker’s Mark bourbon, "Yam Jam by Kelsey Plum," with a portion of proceeds benefiting the Los Angeles Fire Department. Her experience across collegiate, professional, and international basketball, as well as her involvement in player development, positions Plum as a significant figure in women's basketball.
