John Oliver

John Oliver is a comedian, writer, producer, political commentator, actor, and television host. Oliver began his career as a stand-up comedian in the United Kingdom before gaining prominence in the United States as the senior British correspondent on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart." He won three Primetime Emmy Awards for his writing on "The Daily Show" and served as its guest host for an eight-week period, a stint that led to further opportunities in late-night television.

In addition to his work on "The Daily Show," Oliver co-hosted the satirical comedy podcast "The Bugle" with Andy Zaltzman, following their earlier collaboration on the radio series "Political Animal" and "The Department." He also hosted "John Oliver's New York Stand-Up Show" and has acted in television, most notably as Ian Duncan on the NBC sitcom Community, as well as providing voice work in films such as "The Smurfs" and the remake of "The Lion King."
