Colman Domingo

Colman Domingo is an actor, playwright, director, and producer known for his work across film, television, and theater. Prominent on both screen and stage, Domingo has received a Primetime Emmy Award and nominations for two Academy Awards and two Tony Awards. Time magazine included him among the 100 most influential people in the world. His career spans regional theater, Broadway, and major Hollywood productions, reflecting a broad impact on the entertainment industry.

Domingo began his career in regional theater before moving to Broadway, appearing in "Well," "Passing Strange," and "Chicago." For his role in the original Broadway and West End productions of "The Scottsboro Boys," he earned nominations for the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical and the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Performance in a Supporting Role in a Musical. As a writer, he contributed the book for "Summer: The Donna Summer Musical" and co-produced "Fat Ham," a modern adaptation of Hamlet nominated for the Tony Award for Best Play. "Sing Sing" was nominated for three Academy Awards, including Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Original Song, and Best Performance by a Leading Actor. He has also received Lead Actor and Supporting Actor Awards at the NAACP Image Awards, as well as honors from Denver Film CinemaQ-LaBahn Ikon Film, National Hispanic Media Coalition, Creative Coalition Television Humanitarian, and Atlanta's Out On Film Icon.

Domingo earned two Emmy nominations in the same year: Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for "The Four Seasons" on Netflix and another Outstanding Guest Actor nomination for "Euphoria." He also portrayed Joe Jackson in the musical biographical film "Michael." Domingo continues to work across genres, contributing to drama, comedy, and musical projects in the entertainment industry.
