Carey Mulligan is an English actress known for her work in film, television, and theater. Mulligan made her film debut with a supporting role in Joe Wright's romantic drama "Pride & Prejudice" and has received multiple Academy Award nominations for Best Actress for her roles in "An Education," "Promising Young Woman," and "Maestro."

Mulligan's breakthrough came with "An Education," in which she portrayed a teenage girl navigating a relationship with an older man. Her performance earned her a BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role and an Academy Award nomination. She has built a diverse body of work across genres, with notable performances in "Never Let Me Go," "Drive," "Shame," "Inside Llewyn Davis," "Far from the Madding Crowd," "Mudbound," "Wildlife," and "She Said." Mulligan also played Daisy Buchanan in Baz Luhrmann's adaptation of "The Great Gatsby," which stands as her highest-grossing film.

In "Promising Young Woman," Mulligan starred as a woman seeking justice and also served as an executive producer.
