Bryan Johnson founded three significant entities in the field of technology and finance - Kernel, OS Fund, and Braintree. Kernel, established in 2016, is dedicated to the development of devices that monitor and record brain activity, a venture Johnson personally launched with $100 million. The company has since attracted an additional $53 million from outside investors. Prior to this, Johnson set up the OS Fund in 2014, a venture capital firm that prioritizes investments in early-stage science and technology companies. The fund was backed up by $100 million from Johnson's personal capital. Before Kernel and OS Fund, Johnson was the CEO of Braintree, a company specializing in mobile and web payment systems for e-commerce companies. The company was recognized for its acquisition of Venmo in 2012 for $26.2 million before being acquired by PayPal for a staggering $800 million a year later.

In addition to his entrepreneurial ventures, Johnson has made a significant mark in the world of literature and film. He is the author of several publications, including "Zeroism," "Don’t Die," and "We the People." He also contributed a chapter to "Architects of Intelligence: The Truth About AI from the People Building It" in 2018. Moreover, Johnson has been featured in various documentaries related to his work and vision. These include the 2020 film "I Am Human" about brain–machine interfaces, and the anticipated Netflix documentary "Don't Die: The Man Who Wants to Live Forever" slated for release in 2025.

He received the University of Chicago Booth's Distinguished Alumni Award in 2016, and has been acknowledged by Forbes as a key figure in the future of AI.
