Bruce Johnson

Dr. Bruce Johnson is a Houston-based humanitarian, motivational speaker, author, and community leader recognized as the founder of the 1000 Men Empowerment Group. Johnson built his career on the belief that with hope and determination, greater things are possible and attainable for all—a conviction that led to the creation of both the 1000 Men Empowerment Group and 1000 Men Empowerment Labor Field, LLC, which provides job opportunities to veterans and individuals in transition.

The organization supports veterans, men and women in transition, and at-risk youth by promoting education and developing workforce skills, helping participants become independent and integrate into the business world.

Johnson earned a Bachelor of Science in Bible Doctrine from Therapon Theological Seminary and Bible College Houston Heights and an honorary doctorate in organizational leadership from Juliana King University. His academic background, combined with extensive community work, has established him as a credible voice on entrepreneurship, youth empowerment, and community development. Johnson authored the faith-based book, "The Power of Your Life," published by Morgan James Publishing of New York.

Johnson's honors include the President Barack Obama Lifetime Achievement Award, a Congressional Award for Community Service, Houston's First Annual Secret Society Media & Business Award, Houston's Top 40 Under 40 Influential Leader Award, the Black Achievers Award, proclamations from Senator John Whitmire, and a Lifetime Philanthropic Achievement in Community Service and Entertainment from the US China International Film, Culture and Arts Festival. He has also served as the Houston Martin Luther King Black Heritage Society Parade host and has been recognized by Houston City Council Member District K for his contributions to the community.

Johnson engages youth through the annual Jingle Bells Jam Christmas Celebration, held for more than 20 years, providing thousands of young people with gifts and books to encourage education. During the pandemic, Johnson was actively involved in COVID-19 relief efforts, supporting communities worldwide.

His work has been featured on Telethon 55.5 International Television, KRBE 104.1, KCOH, and Houston's local ABC affiliate. Johnson is a keynote speaker and industry expert, addressing topics such as community outreach development, youth empowerment, entrepreneurship, and "The Power of Your Life." His motto, "It Takes a Team to Raise a Nation, No One Left Behind," reflects the spirit of his work and continues to resonate with audiences.
