Anthony Ramos

Anthony Ramos is a Grammy-winning artist and Golden Globe and Emmy-nominated actor known for originating the dual roles of John Laurens and Philip Hamilton in the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical "Hamilton." Ramos graduated from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy with a degree in musical theater and appeared in various regional and touring musical productions prior to his breakthrough in "Hamilton." He received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for the release of "Hamilton" on Disney+.

Ramos starred as Usnavi in Jon M. Chu’s film adaptation of "In the Heights," based on Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Tony Award-winning musical. His performance earned a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy Film and recognition in IndieWire’s year-end Best Performance round-up. Ramos also appeared in HBO’s reimagining of the Emmy Award-winning series "In Treatment" opposite Uzo Aduba. His film and television credits include roles in the action film "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts," the sequel to "Twister," and the Marvel series "Ironheart." Ramos has also been featured in the Broadway revival of "Amadeus," portraying Mozart.

Additional achievements include a role opposite Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper in the Academy Award-winning film "A Star Is Born," starring as Mars Blackmon in Spike Lee’s Netflix series "She’s Gotta Have It," and voicing King Trollex in Paramount’s animated film "Trolls World Tour." Ramos received a nomination for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Actor in a Supporting Role in a Limited Series or Movie for his performance in the stage recording of "Hamilton."

As a recording artist, Ramos debuted with the EP "Freedom," a collection of soul-pop anthems. He later signed with Republic Records and released his debut album, "The Good & The Bad," which debuted in the Top 10 on the iTunes Pop Albums Chart. Ramos also released the single "Almost Like Praying" for Puerto Rico relief and the single "Stop." His sophomore album, "Love and Lies," features tracks such as "Say Less" and "Blessings," showcasing his evolution toward an R&B sound and provocative lyrics. Ramos continues to be recognized for his work in musical theater, film, television, and music.
