Singer-Songwriter & Indie Musician; Known for "Numb"; Three Studio Albums Including "Modern World"
Max Jury Biography
Max Jury is an American singer-songwriter known for his work in Americana, country-rock, folk, and indie music. Raised in Iowa, Jury developed an international audience through a series of European tours prior to the release of his self-titled debut album. Influenced by artists such as Neil Young, Gram Parsons, the Byrds, Willie Nelson, and Wilco, Jury's music reflects a blend of classic and contemporary styles.
After earning a scholarship to Berklee College of Music in Boston, Jury left after one year and returned to Des Moines. Drawing inspiration from his experiences working blue-collar jobs, he began writing original material, performing with local bands, and playing piano. Jury released his first project, the EP "Something in the Air," after signing with Marathon Artists and touring both Europe and the United States. He recorded his debut album at Electric Lady Studios in New York with producer Inflo, later finishing the project in Jackson, North Carolina.
Jury's debut studio album features the single "Numb," which achieved global success and accumulated more than 40 million streams. He has toured with Lana Del Rey and Rufus Wainwright and performed sold-out shows across the United Kingdom, including at the 100 Club in London. Pop Magazine recognized his debut as one of the top albums of its year.
Jury's second studio album, "Modern World," was produced by Robin Hannibal, a four-time Grammy-nominated producer and songwriter. He released a limited-edition 7-inch cover series titled "Under the Covers" and an acoustic demo EP, "Notes from California." Jury recorded his third album, "Avenues," in a home studio in North Carolina and later in London, collaborating with Dan Rothman of London Grammar. The album includes the single "Peace of Mind," co-written with Rothman. With three studio albums and an international following, Jury is recognized within the American indie music scene for his evolving sound and songwriting.
