Dawn Hasbrouck Biography

Dawn Hasbrouck is an award-winning broadcast journalist, host, interviewer and moderator who spent nearly two decades as a main anchor at FOX 32 Chicago. Hasbrouck has built a distinguished career covering breaking news, interviewing influential leaders and telling compelling stories for television and live audiences.

Hasbrouck is a familiar face to Chicago audiences and brings extensive experience on camera and in live event settings. Most recently, she served as the on-camera host for IMTS 2026, one of the largest manufacturing trade shows in North America, anchoring two daily live programs, "IMTS Today" and "IMTS Unwind," throughout the week. Her work included live hosting, interviews, introductions, storytelling and on-camera segments with industry leaders and executives.

Hasbrouck has served as an emcee, host and moderator for organizations and events including The Links Incorporated, the Alzheimer’s Association, the American Heart Association, the Hippocratic Cancer Research Foundation, Advocate Health Care hospital galas and St. Ignatius’ Gloriam, among others. She has also hosted a number of fireside chats and executive conversations, bringing the skills of a veteran television interviewer to live audiences and creating engaging, conversational discussions with prominent leaders.

During her television career, Hasbrouck launched FOX 32’s 5 p.m. newscast, helped launch the station’s 4 p.m. newscast and became only the second woman in station history to anchor the FOX 32 9 p.m. news. Before joining FOX 32, Hasbrouck was an Emmy-nominated anchor and reporter for CBS in Boston and previously served as morning and noon anchor and medical reporter for CBS in Hartford. Her career has also included anchor roles in Milwaukee and Savannah and reporting positions in Lexington and Des Moines.

Hasbrouck has received Emmy nominations for both anchoring and reporting, as well as Associated Press and Chicago Headline Club Lisagor Awards. In May 2026, she was inducted into the Medill School of Journalism Hall of Achievement, the highest honor bestowed upon graduates of Northwestern University’s Medill School. She is also a member of Northwestern University’s Council of 100 and serves on Loyola University’s Board of Regents.

Hasbrouck holds a bachelor’s degree in public policy from Duke University, with a certificate in film and video production, and a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. She also studied film and television at the University of Southern California.

Beyond the newsroom, Hasbrouck works with organizations and individuals on communications, interviewing, presentation and on-camera performance. Her areas of expertise include live event hosting and moderation, executive and corporate interviews, on-camera storytelling, media and presentation coaching, broadcast journalism and communications.

Outside of her professional work, Hasbrouck is a proud Chicago mom of two sons and remains deeply involved in her community and the arts. Based in Chicago, Hasbrouck brings the experience of a veteran journalist and live television host to conferences, corporate events, trade shows, panels, executive interviews and other high-profile engagements.
