Jimmy McCartney is a headlining stand-up comedian and public speaker primarily speaking about how it is possible to change the trajectory of life with creative thinking and hard work. Completely self-made, McCartney left his small town with no connections and terrible stage fright. After years of rejection, failure and facing his fears as an open mic comic and unknown actor, McCartney did the impossible. He bypassed gate keepers and the entire ladder of the comedy world, and self-booked himself as a headliner by researching and cold calling hundreds of venues. After five months of full time effort and countless ""No, thank you"" rejections, McCartney was able to book an entire tour that went better than he could have ever hoped. He has been touring the country from Northern Alaska, to Key West as a full time comedian ever since.

    There is no perfect and easy pathway that is the correct answer; there are struggles no matter what route you take in life, but Jimmy McCartney argues that when you commit yourself to your purpose and passion, life becomes an adventure, and you can lay in your death bed proud of what you became knowing you soaked all you could out of life. Additionally, wonderful things will come your way that you could never expect as a direct result of becoming the person you were born to be, and living your life as the main character in your own story. There are no guarantees on results or external rewards, but internally you will know your life mattered and you didn’t just survive you truly lived.     Most people run from things they are afraid of and spend their entire lives trapped by the limitations of those fears. Jimmy McCartney argues that when a person intentionally and repeatedly faces the things that scare them, they become stronger than they thought possible, and it gives them direct access to a better life. Jimmy wasn’t born with a gift or predisposition to be a charismatic stand up comedian. In fact, it was the opposite; he had crushing stage freight and a fear of being rejected. He had goals he wanted to reach, and he knew the pathway to get there laid with the ability to speak publicly, so Jimmy went to countless open mics, and acting auditions to face his fear and grow as a person. After years of exposing himself to these and other fears, Jimmy became a full time comedian, and met the love of his life who fell in love with him because of his confidence and passion. Jimmy is now married and a father, lives by his own rules, on his own schedule, and am free. All of this came from facing fears that cause most people to turn away.

    When we face fears we grow, both over the fear itself, but more importantly from the self-imposed limitations we put upon ourselves. When those fears are faced, and slowly overcome, opportunities are presented, and we develop skills that directly lead to a better life in realms we can never expect.

    McCartney believes that the pathway to becoming confident, living free of constraint, and creating better outcomes in all realms is directly connected to facing fears. Go out and sing karaoke, go skydiving, introduce yourself to your crush, go to dinner alone, ask for the pay raise. When we intentionally face fear, we become more, and live better.
