Elizabeth Baker Keffer Biography

Elizabeth Baker Keffer is executive vice president and chief relationship officer at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the world's largest business organization. As the Chamber's first chief relationship officer, Keffer leads a team focused on member engagement, value, and growth across the Chamber's policy programs and initiatives. She brings extensive experience in marketing and business development, emphasizing the importance of strategic relationships in driving business growth.

Keffer's career includes leadership roles at major institutions in business and media. Before joining the Chamber, she served as executive vice president and chief marketing officer at Advisory Board Company and Corporate Executive Board, overseeing revenue and sales teams through the launch and expansion of membership programs and their subsequent IPOs. Following these roles, Keffer became chief revenue officer at The Atlantic, where she developed partnerships with C-suite executives and created business events such as the Aspen Ideas Festival. She later served as president of AtlanticLIVE, the events division of The Atlantic, where she managed revenue across print, digital, and events platforms.

Prior to her tenure at the Chamber, Keffer was partner and chief network officer at BDT & Company, a merchant bank serving founder- and family-owned businesses globally. Her responsibilities included managing key relationships and facilitating connections among limited partners and clients to share best practices. Keffer's experience spans membership organizations, media, and private finance, providing her with a broad perspective on business leadership and relationship management.

Keffer is a keynote speaker on topics including business growth, leadership, and female empowerment. She has delivered keynote remarks for the Illinois Women's Business Collective InvestInHer series and hosted events for women leaders in the Washington, D.C., region. Keffer holds a Bachelor of Arts in English with honors and a minor in human biology from Brown University, and has completed executive seminars in finance and sales force management at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and the Kellogg School at Northwestern University.
