Peter Del Vecho Biography
Peter Del Vecho is an American film producer and senior vice president of productionat Walt Disney Animation Studios who is best known for winning an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature for the 2013 film, Frozen.
Del Vecho grew up in the city of Quincy, in the South Shore area just outside of Boston, Massachusetts. He graduated in 1980 from the Boston University College of Fine Arts, where he studied theater production, and worked in theatre for 15 years. In 1995, after working at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis for about 10 years, he was recruited by Disney Animation. He started out in production management and transitioned into producing.
Besides Frozen, Del Vecho produced the Disney animated films The Princess and the Frog, Raya and the Last Dragon with Osnat Shurer, and was an associate producer of Treasure Planet, which was directed by John Musker and Ron Clements.
