We are preparing students to solve local and global problems we haven’t defined yet, using technology that hasn’t been invented, in roles that do not exist. To thrive in this new era, students need to know how to learn, problem solve, iterate, create, collaborate, communicate, and to think critically. We'll discuss what we need to focus on to bring education to the next level.
For schools to truly be successful, they must first create a school culture that values the naturally inquisitive nature of their students. Schools need a framework and curriculum that allows students to explore what is relevant to them, all the while mastering the skills needed to thrive in academic environments and beyond. In an Inquiry School, no student ever asks, "why do we need to learn this?" because they set their own path towards acquiring knowledge. In this session we will review the principles of inquiry-based learning and discuss strategies and actions to bring it to live in your classroom. We will start with the most essential question, "why does our learning matter?"
