Adam Goldberg Biography
Adam Goldberg is an actor, director, producer, writer, musician, and photographer whose career spans more than three decades in the entertainment industry. Goldberg's work includes a diverse range of roles and projects, both on and off screen, showcasing his versatility in film, television, music, and visual arts.
Goldberg's breakthrough role came in Richard Linklater's coming-of-age comedy "Dazed and Confused," where he played Mike Newhouse, a high school junior navigating conflicting aspects of his personality. His career took a significant turn when Steven Spielberg selected him for a role in the Academy Award-winning film "Saving Private Ryan," where he portrayed Private Mellish alongside Tom Hanks. Goldberg continued to build a varied filmography, appearing in Ron Howard's "A Beautiful Mind" as a colleague of John Nash, in "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" as Matthew McConaughey's friend, and as a Jewish superhero in "The Hebrew Hammer." Additional film credits include roles in "The Prophecy" and "The Salton Sea."
On television, Goldberg has appeared in a wide range of genres. He played Mr. Numbers in the award-winning crime drama "Fargo" on FX, a role that required him to learn American Sign Language. Goldberg also starred on CBS' "The Equalizer" as computer hacker Harry Keshegian. His other television credits include recurring roles on "Friends" and "Entourage," as well as starring roles on "The Jim Gaffigan Show," "Taken," "The Unusuals," and "God Friended Me."
Behind the camera, Goldberg has written, produced, directed, and edited several feature films, including "Scotch and Milk," "I Love Your Work," and "No Way Jose." He also created television projects such as the travelogue "Running with the Bulls" for IFC. "Scotch and Milk" debuted at the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival and received recognition in American Cinematography Magazine and on Sundance Channel. In collaboration with Giovanni Ribisi, Goldberg wrote and directed "I Love Your Work," for which he also co-wrote the score with Steven Drozd of The Flaming Lips.
In music, Goldberg leads The Goldberg Sisters, a project known for its psych-pop sound. He released his first album, "Eros and Omissions," under the LANDy moniker, featuring contributions from Steven Drozd and members of The Black Pine. His fourth Goldberg Sisters album was released as a hybrid book and vinyl set, integrating his photography, lyrics, and notes.
Goldberg attended Sarah Lawrence College and has developed a loyal following for his work in film, television, music, and photography, contributing to the creative arts with a multidisciplinary approach.
