 Killer Mike Biography

Killer Mike made his debut on “Snappin' and Trappin'” on OutKast's 2000 album, “Stankonia,” and also appeared on the Grammy-winning song, “The Whole World,” which was the single from OutKast's 2001 greatest hits album “Big Boi and Dre Present...OutKast.”

Killer Mike released his debut album, “Monster,” in 2003. The album's lead single was “Akshon (Yeah!),” featuring OutKast on guest vocals. The album's second single was “A.D.I.D.A.S.,” featuring Big Boi and Sleepy Brown, which peaked at No. 60 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart.

Following the release of his own material, he appeared in 2003 on “Flip Flop Rock” and “Bust” on the “Speakerboxx” portion of OutKast's “Speakerboxxx/The Love Below” album. He also appeared on “Southern Takeover” with Pastor Troy on Chamillionaire's 2005 release, “The Sound of Revenge.”

“I Pledge Allegiance to the Grind,” his second album, was released in 2006. It introduced Grind Time Rap Gang members S.L. Jones, Nario, Bigg Slimm, Da Bill Collector and Rock D The Legend. He followed in 2008 with “I Pledge Alliance To The Grind II.” The album reached No. 29 on the Billboard Independent Albums chart and No. 9 on the Rap Albums chart.

A double album, “Underground Atlanta,” was released in 2009. The song “I'mma Fool wit It,” featuring Big Kuntry King, was released as a single. The album went to No. 10 on the Billboard Rap Albums chart and No. 34 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. “PL3DGE” was released in 2011 and reached No. 34 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.

His 2012 effort, "R.A.P. Music," landed on the Williams Street label and was produced exclusively by the adventurous beatmaker El-P. He and El-P teamed up again, forming the duo Run The Jewels. They released an album by the same name in June 2013. In 2014, they released their second album as a duo, "RTJ2."

Killer Mike has also performed as a voice actor. He played a rapper/actor, turned President of the United States, named Taqu'il in the Adult Swim cartoon “Frisky Dingo.” He was featured in the movies “20 Funerals,” “Idlewild” and “ATL.”
