James Buescher Biography

A family man off the track, James Buescher is known for his take no prisoners attitude on the race track. From the time he was 12 years old, Buescher was winning races and championships in his home state of Texas. In the last 12 years, not much has changed, culminating with Buescher capturing the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Championship (NCWTS) in 2012.

Jumping into the seat of fellow Texan Steve Turner’s American Speed Association (ASA) Late Model ride in 2006, Buescher moved up the stock car ranks with Turner Motorsports.

Winning his first championship at 14 years old, Buescher competed in the Bandolero Young Gun Series at Texas Motor Speedway. The following year, he moved onto the Legend Series and, in 2006, partnered with Turner Scott Motorsports to run in the ASA Late Model Series where he captured the championship as well as Rookie of the Year honors and the Most Popular Driver award. Over the next two years, he raced in various national stock car series, making his ARCA Racing Series, NCWTS and NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) debuts. In his sixth NXS start, in Braun Racing’s No. 32 entry, he claimed his first NASCAR pole award (Memphis Motorsports Park, 2008).

In 2009, he competed full time in the NCWTS, bringing home one top-five and three top-10 finishes. In four ARCA Racing Series events that same year, he collected two wins and three top-five finishes. Buescher returned to the NCWTS in 2010, piloting Turner Scott Motorsports’ No. 31 Wolfpack Rentals Silverado for a majority of the season. In 22 starts, he finished inside the top-five six times and inside the top-10 on 10 occasions. He also made 15 NXS starts, with one top-10 finish, and claimed Turner Scott Motorsports' first NASCAR pole award (Texas Motor Speedway, November).

The 25-year-old had a breakout season in 2011, driving the No. 31 Exide Batteries Chevrolet Silverado, capturing four poles, 10 top-five and 19 top-10 finishes on his way to a career best third in the final NCWTS point standings.

Eager to follow up his successful 2011 season, Buescher and the entire Exide team came in with a “Never Give Up” attitude. Buescher started off the 2012 season on a high note as he captured his first NASCAR victory in the opening NXS race at the famed Daytona International Speedway. That win would be just the beginning for Buescher, as the young driver went on to have success in the NCWTS in 2012 as well. Winning four times, with 10 top-fives and 14 top-10s, Buescher brought home the elusive NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Championship, a first for both Buescher and Turner Motorsports.

After a dream 2012 season, Buescher returned to the NCWTS looking to be the first back-to-back champion in series history. After getting off to a slow start in 2013, Buescher and his Rheem team heated up during the summer months when Buescher and the Rheem team got back in victory lane at Michigan International Speedway, and followed it up with a second victory coming just a couple weeks later at Iowa Speedway. These victories and the string of strong top-10 finishes put Buescher right back in the thick of the championship picture. Buescher however came up just shy of repeating as NCWTS champion; Buescher did record his third straight top-three driver’s championship point standings finish. In addition to the two victories in 2013, Buescher captured two poles (Kansas Speedway and Canadian Tire Motorsports Park).

In 2014, Buescher moved over from his father-in-laws team of Turner Motorsports to compete in his first full-time NXS season with RAB Racing. Coming into 2014 with high hopes, Buescher and the Rheem team have adored a plethora misfortune. Making the most of the situation, Buescher and the RAB Racing team had some bright spots during the season, tallying two top-10s and 14 top-15 finishes. Coming down to the final turn of the 2014 NASCAR XFINITY Series season, Buescher was able to secure 10th-place in the NASCAR driver point standings.

Buescher made his return to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 2015 driving select races in the No. 31 Silverado for NTS Motorsports. This opportunity was short lived due to a lack of funding for the team. James has since put his focus into the Real Estate world in the greater Houston area and has created a large network of agents nationwide to have the ability to assist everyone with their Real Estate needs.

When Buescher is away from the race track, he enjoys hunting, golfing, bike riding and spending time with family and friends. In January 2012, Buescher married his longtime girlfriend Kris Turner in a ceremony in Costa Rica. In July of 2013 James and his wife Kris welcomed their first son, Stetson Rees to their family. During the summer of 2014 in June, The Buescher’s welcomed their second child to the world, Presley Mercedes. The Buescher’s make their home just outside of Fulshear, Texas.
