Stokeley Goulbourne, known professionally as Ski Mask the Slump God, is a rapper from Broward County, Florida, known for his fast, playful flow and cartoonish, slightly morbid persona. Inspired by Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes, he grew up on hip-hop and Jamaican music, following in the footsteps of his father, who was also a rapper. In 2013, he met XXXTENTACION in juvenile detention, and together they formed the groups Very Rare and Members Only.
Ski Mask began uploading music to SoundCloud in 2015, releasing mixtapes that gained traction with tracks like I Like Bricks and Kate Moss. His 2016 single Take a Step Back and debut mixtape Drown in Designer marked the start of his rise, followed by YouWillRegret in 2017, which featured collaborations with XXXTENTACION, MadeinTYO, and DirtyFaceSmook. He continued building momentum with singles like WHOHASIT and DoIHaveTheSause?
In 2018, Ski Mask achieved his highest chart placement yet with Beware the Book of Eli, landing at number 50 on the Billboard 200. Later that year, he released his official debut LP, Stokeley, featuring Lil Baby, Lil Yachty, Austin Lam, and Juice WRLD, with production from Murda Beatz and WondaGurl, cementing his status as a distinctive voice in contemporary rap.
