Shailene Woodley is an actress known for her work in film, television, and theater. Woodley first gained recognition for her role as Amy Juergens in the ABC Family teen drama series "The Secret Life of the American Teenager," a part she secured while still in high school. At age 15, she was diagnosed with idiopathic scoliosis and wore a chest-to-hips plastic brace for two years, continuing her acting career during this period.

Woodley achieved a significant film breakthrough with her performance in Alexander Payne's "The Descendants" opposite George Clooney, earning a Cannes Trophée Chopard Award and a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. She gained wider recognition for her starring roles as a teenage cancer patient in the romantic drama "The Fault in Our Stars" and as Beatrice Prior in the science-fiction trilogy "The Divergent Series."
