Robb Wells

Robb Wells is a Canadian actor, comedian, and screenwriter whose career spans three decades and whose work has influenced North American comedy. Wells is best known for portraying Ricky in "Trailer Park Boys," a character known for his quick temper and frequent malapropisms, often causing trouble for the other members of the lead trio.

Wells's career began unconventionally; while operating a chain of pizza restaurants called J.R. Capone's with John Paul Tremblay, the two created video skits for entertainment. Their short film project, "One Last Shot," featured Canadian actor John Francis Dunsworth and received recognition for acting and cinematography.

Following this, Wells, Tremblay, and Mike Smith produced a mockumentary film titled "Trailer Park Boys." After meeting Smith during filming, they secured a deal with Showcase to develop "Trailer Park Boys" into a television series. The series premiered on Showcase and gained popularity in several countries, noted for its loosely scripted, ad-libbed dialogue. During its six-year run, the show received multiple Gemini Award nominations and won once.

The "Trailer Park Boys" franchise expanded to include seven seasons on Canadian cable, a revival with additional seasons on Netflix, three feature films—"Trailer Park Boys: The Movie," "Countdown to Liquor Day," and "Don't Legalize It"—and two seasons of animated specials, with Wells voicing Ricky.

Wells, along with Tremblay and Smith, acquired the rights to "Trailer Park Boys" and continued the series on the internet channel SwearNet.com. He also co-starred, co-wrote, and co-produced "Swearnet" with his colleagues, further establishing his presence in Canadian comedy production.

Outside the "Trailer Park Boys" universe, Wells has appeared in "The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day," the film "Hobo with a Shotgun," and the FX TV series "Archer." He also joined Crave's Canadian comedy series "The Trades" as the lead, playing a red seal welder named Todd.

A 13th season of "Trailer Park Boys" has been completed, demonstrating that Wells and his character Ricky continue to engage audiences. With a career characterized by improvisational comedy, grassroots creativity, and a comedic voice rooted in Maritime Canadian culture, Wells is recognized as a significant figure in Canadian entertainment, television, and film.
