
Rachel Dratch is a comedian, actress, and writer whose career encompasses American comedy, improvisational theater, television, and Broadway. After graduating from Dartmouth College with a degree in drama and psychology, Dratch moved to Chicago to study improvisational theater, joining The Second City's touring company before advancing to its Mainstage. There, she performed alongside Tina Fey, Adam McKay, and Scott Adsit, earning two Joseph Jefferson Awards for Best Actress in a Revue for her work in "Paradigm Lost" and "Promisekeepers, Losers Weepers." Her two-woman show with Fey, "Dratch & Fey," was performed at Second City, Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York City, and the Aspen Comedy Festival.
Dratch gained national recognition as a cast member on "Saturday Night Live," where she performed for seven seasons. Her work included celebrity impressions of Arianna Huffington, Hillary Clinton, and Martha Stewart, as well as original characters such as Denise, the Boston teen, and Virginia from "The Love-ahs." Dratch's character Debbie Downer became one of the show's most recognized sketches. Rolling Stone ranked her among the most influential "Saturday Night Live" cast members. She has returned to the show as a guest, notably portraying Senator Amy Klobuchar.
Dratch's film and television credits include roles in "Down with Love," "Click," "Just Go with It," and "Wine Country." On television, she has appeared in series such as "30 Rock," "Parks and Recreation," "Broad City," "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," and "Last Week Tonight with John Oliver." She hosted "Rachel Dratch's Late Night Snack" on truTV and starred in the ABC sitcom "Imaginary Mary." Dratch authored the memoir "Girl Walks into a Bar...: Comedy Calamities, Dating Disasters, and a Midlife Miracle," which details her comedy career and personal experiences. She also launched the podcast "Woo Woo with Rachel Dratch," exploring paranormal and metaphysical topics with guests including Tina Fey, Will Forte, and Gloria Steinem.
Dratch has appeared on Broadway, making her debut in "POTUS: Or, Behind Every Great Dumbass Are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive," earning a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Play. She later took on the role of the Narrator in the Roundabout Theatre Company's revival of "Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show" at Studio 54, receiving a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Musical.
