Michelle Dockery

Michelle Dockery is an English actress and singer known for her work in television, film, and theater. Dockery graduated from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, where she received the Gold Medal for Drama. She was later named a Fellow of the Guildhall School in recognition of her achievements in television. Her stage career includes a nomination for the Evening Standard Award for her performance as Eliza Doolittle in a London revival of "Pygmalion," and an Olivier Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role in "Burnt by the Sun" at the National Theatre.

Dockery gained international recognition for her portrayal of Lady Mary Crawley in Julian Fellowes' drama series "Downton Abbey." The series, broadcast on PBS in the United States, became the highest-rated PBS drama in the network's history, drawing an average audience of 11.5 million viewers each week by its third season. For her work on the series, Dockery received three consecutive Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series and a Golden Globe nomination. Dockery has demonstrated versatility across film and television, appearing as Princess Myagkaya in the film adaptation of "Anna Karenina" and starring in the BBC One adaptation of William Boyd's spy thriller "Restless." She appeared in the action thriller "Non-Stop" alongside Liam Neeson, Julianne Moore, and Lupita Nyong'o. Dockery played the lead role of Letty Raines in the American drama series "Good Behavior" and starred as Alice Fletcher in the Netflix western-drama limited series "Godless," earning a fourth Primetime Emmy nomination. She also appeared in Guy Ritchie's action comedy "The Gentlemen," which grossed $115 million worldwide.

In addition to acting, Dockery is a trained singer who has performed at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club in London and has sung with Sadie and the Hotheads, a band formed by her "Downton Abbey" co-star Elizabeth McGovern. She and her co-star Michael C. Fox signed a record deal with Decca Records as the duo Michelle and Michael, with singles "The Watching Silence" and "Starlight" reaching the UK Physical Singles Chart. Dockery was named Oxfam's first Humanitarian Ambassador and serves as a patron for Changing Faces, an organization supporting individuals with facial disfigurements.
