Michael Fishman

Michael Fishman is an actor, writer, producer, and director with a career spanning more than three decades in the entertainment industry. Fishman began his acting career at age six, portraying D.J. Conner on ABC's Golden Globe Award-winning sitcom "Roseanne." He was cast in the role after meeting Roseanne Barr during an audition, despite having no prior acting experience. During the show's nine-season run, Fishman received two nominations for Best Young Actor Under Nine Years of Age in the Young Artist Awards and won the Young Artist Award for Best Performance: Young Actor in a TV Comedy Series.

After "Roseanne," Fishman expanded his work in television and film, appearing in guest roles on "Walker, Texas Ranger" and "Seinfeld," and securing a recurring role on "Hitz." His film credits include "A.I. Artificial Intelligence" and "Undrafted." Fishman also co-hosted "The Roseanne Show." During this period, he developed technical skills in set building, set design, camera operation, assistant directing, and props, contributing to an Emmy-nominated art department group for "Sports Science."

Fishman returned to television with the revival of "Roseanne," reprising his role as D.J. Conner. He continued in the spin-off "The Conners," directing multiple episodes, including the network television directorial debut for the show's Halloween episode. Fishman has produced both scripted and unscripted content, including the feature "A Place in the Field." He also starred in "Abducted By My Teacher: The Elizabeth Thomas Story," portraying Tad Cummins.

In addition to his on-screen work, Fishman is an advocate and storyteller, drawing from personal experience. He appeared on "Tamron Hall" to discuss the loss of his teenage son, Larry, to an overdose.
